The 45th annual gathering is presented by the University of Arizona School of Art and the National Council of Arts Administrators

The University of Arizona is proud to host the 45th annual conference of the National Council of Art Administrators highlighting strategies for maximizing diversity and inclusivity through pedagogy, programming and the recruitment, retention, and support of heterogeneous populations of students, faculty, and administrators. For art institutions to thrive in the 21st century they must welcome and cultivate diversity in the broadest sense: from interdisciplinarity with the sciences and social sciences to individual and group identities. Through lectures, presentations and conversations, participants will see how biases related to ethnicity, race, age, gender identity, sexual preference, disability and religious affiliation are unconsciously replicated and reinforced in standard practices such as advising, mentoring, programming, promotion and tenure, as well as course content and structure. Speakers, facilitators, and conference participants will engage in developing innovative strategies to meet the broad range of challenges at institutions represented by the cohort.
