Art Minors
Consider declaring a minor in Art History, Art & Visual Culture Education or Studio Art as a means of deepening your understanding of art and your artistic self. For instance, are you planning to major in Art History or perhaps a different area of study altogether, but you still feel the insatiable urge to create? The minor in Studio Art is available with a concentration in 2D Studies; 3D and Extended Media; and Photography, Video and Imaging. Finally, an Arts Administration Minor is offered through the College of Fine Arts.

Art History
Explore the history of art through visual representations, architecture, culture, and film.
ART HISTORY MINOR REQUIREMENTS
- 2.0 GPA
- ARH 201 and ARH 202
- 12 units of upper division art history coursework. Of those 12 units, 3 must be a 400 level art history course
This minor does not require studio art coursework. Studio art coursework will not satisfy any requirement for this minor.

Emphasis in Photography, 2D or 3D. Due to limited enrollment, a minor in Illustration, Design and Animation is not offered.

6 units of a 200 level art studio
9 units upper division art studio

UNDERGRADUATE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Arts Administration
The Arts Administration Minor is an 18-unit program offered through the College of Fine Arts in partnership with Eller College of Management, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and other colleges. Students acquire skills in fundraising, programming, community engagement, advocacy, financial, and marketing for creative organizations with a practical emphasis to all core coursework.
Two elective courses and a practical study allow students to choose the areas they are most interested in pursuing and gain applied career experience. Students engage with professionals and gain insight into career opportunities in both non-profit and market-driven visual, performing arts, and media organizations throughout the program.
Curriculum
The required coursework includes three foundation courses, two explorations courses, and one internship or practical study. Among the choices for explorations courses is ART 497A Gallery Management.
