“These marks as on an airplane wing blazing are words for us to read,
though some part of us can’t read; some part of us is unlettered and describes us by living”
-Alice Notley
Working in the blurred area between pseudo and authentic esoteric experience, GAG uses personal symbols alongside geometric and biomorphic forms to build a self-styled ritual space. > Hidden Place < is an amalgam of industrial and natural forms; manufactured shapes covered in day-glow mud support plastic crystals and bundles of wood. Rough clay and sparkling glass-like shapes doodle their way across the gallery wall, a nameless language describing the objects in the room. Playing with color, semantics, and form, the installation embodies the familiar and irrational realm of dreams, imagination, and belief.
