Ecological Bodies and The Haptic Home | Undergraduate Honors Thesis Exhibition by Ellery Page

June 25, 2019 to July 25, 2019

Venue: lionel rombach gallery

Reception: Jun 27, 12 — 3 pm

Ecological Bodies & The Haptic Home revolves around ideas of tactile knowledge and the psychological fabric of home, family, and relationship to the earth. The exhibit is an installation of sculpture, prints and mixed media by Ellery Page for her UA Honors Thesis at the Lionel Rombach Gallery that will be shown from June 25th – July 25th, 2019.

The printmaking imagery explores the relationship between trauma and physiology and how it stunts neuroplasticity. The accompanying poetry explores the breakdown of how trauma effects language and social dynamics.

Ellery is a Tucson-based artist and recent graduate of the University of Arizona, she received a BFA in 2D with emphasis in printmaking and a minor in creative writing. Her work generally focuses on the intersections in neuroscience, art, and poetry.

Meet Nathan Cordova, an MFA candidate in the school’s nationally ranked Photography, Video and Imaging program, who's hard at work on his "Ghosts and Shadows" audio/visual project for the Mellon-Fronteridades Graduate Fellowship. Not only is Nathan interviewing his labor-activist uncle, but the grad student also is curious about "the way I’ve proposed to engage with the agency of the material that comprises a lot of the border wall.” tinyurl.com/388tydke Arizona Arts Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry The University of Arizona Mellon Foundation Society for Photographic Education University of Arizona Museum of Art Center for Creative Photography University of Arizona Center for Latin American Studies ...
