At the turn of the century, Ateliers were an effective way and place for a master artist to gain popularity with students and apprentices while simultaneously providing a social setting for common interests. Today, live drawing has become a world movement again, in part due to tablet burnout.
The Live Drawing Atelier program will feature drawing instructors from the UA School of Art headed by Professor Alfred Quiroz and Associate Professor Larry Gipe, live models, drawing kits donated by Sarnoff Artist Materials that can be purchased at a discount, custom libations and appetizers, and more surprises.
Drawing lessons will be in two 45-minute sessions: one at 5:45 p.m., one at 6:45 p.m. Drawing kits are available for purchase or, if you prefer, you may bring your own drawing pad and utensils. Those who choose to observe rather than participate in the drawing activity are most welcome to mingle and enjoy the venue, libations, and appetizers.

$80 entry fee includes appetizers and 2 drink tickets.
First time attendees to a School of Art Advisory Board event pay $68 (15% discount).
Drawing kits: $10 at the event, a $20 value.
UA RED artists’ aprons: 100% cotton duck, $20 at the event.
