“(co)creating herstory: educurated artivism,”curated by Art & Visual Culture Education Ph.D. student Nupur Sachdeva, opens March 28 at the Lionel Rombach Gallery, with an opening reception on Thursday, March 30, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The exhibit manifests the power of cultural resource centers within academic spaces, such as the University of Arizona’s Women & Gender Resource Center (WGRC), and the power of the arts to make that work visible.
“herstory” emphasizes the lived experiences and stories of marginalized/minoritized gender identities. Through this exhibit, Nupur explores the possibilities of her research as a space for participatory, experiential, (un)learning & (co)creation of herstory.
This project has been made possible by donors to the College of Fine Arts Fund for Excellence and Common Grand Alliance Herstory funds.
