The AVCE division is honored to announce that Dr. Julia Marshall, Professor, San Francisco State University will be speaking at the University of Arizona on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Dr. Marshall is an award-winning and internationally recognized scholar of arts integration and arts-based research and she will be presenting about curriculum development in art education and metaphors for research.
Dr. Julia Marshall is a Professor of Art Education at San Francisco State University. She has published extensively about arts-based research, integrating contemporary art into art education, and creative inquiry. She is the design and development consultant to the Alameda County Office of Education’s Integrated Learning Specialist Program for which she guides curriculum and instruction in the Integrated Learning Specialist Program. The co-author with David M. Donahue of Art Centered Learning Across the Curriculum: Integrating Contemporary Art Into the Secondary School Classroom published by Teachers College Press, Dr. Marshall is on the editorial board of Studies in Art Education and the Research Commission of the National Art Education Association.
