Our future Art and Visual Culture educators invite you to join them for the 2023 Wildcat Art Exhibition and Reception on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Lionel Rombach Gallery.
Wildcat Art is a non-profit, student-led program offered by the Art & Visual Culture Education (AVCE) program at the University of Arizona School of Art. Now in its 28th year, Wildcat Art serves the Tucson community while providing hands-on teaching experience for advanced undergraduate and graduate art education students.
The exhibition features selected works by local K-12 students, who spent the previous four Saturdays creating paintings, collages, embroidery, clay works and drawings.
The student teachers developed and taught all of their lesson plans around the theme of “memory” as a retrospective on the celebration of the human experience. This includes different aspects of identity, cultures, home life and dreams.
The Wildcat Art program directors are Rachael Zollinger and Hillary Douglas. The teachers are Alexis Campos, Rhiannon Cox, Krysta Ellis, Bella Gracia, Rachel Huffman, Emma Kageyama, Thurwin Lane and Eva Wallen. School of Art Gallery Director lydia see curated the exhibition along with Kageyama, Huffman and Ellis.
