Venue:
Worlds of Words Center (College of Education, Room 453)
Start Time:
9:00AM

University of Arizona Art & Visual Culture Education Ph.D. candidate Seoyeon Jenn Kim will hold an exhibition, “Page to Practice: Art Educators’ Responses to Sociocultural Issues.”

The show, on view April 20-24 at the Worlds of Words Center (College of Education, Room 453), features storytelling artist’s books created by 16 pre-service art educators and artists from ARE 230 (Foundations of AVCE, Fall 2025), a class taught by Kim.

Through arts-based methods and picturebook pedagogy, these works critically engage sociocultural issues, using individual and collective narratives to explore complex themes such as identity, race, and inequity. The exhibition highlights how creative practice can foster critical inquiry, reflection and dialogue within art education and beyond. For more information about the project.

A closing reception will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. Light refreshments and creative activities will be provided. If you plan to attend, please RSVP here.

The exhibition is an opportunity to support the creative and critical work of emerging art educators.
