Phoebe Charpentier is an interdisciplinary scholar at the University of Arizona studying art history, museum studies, and American Indian studies. She is dedicated to promoting equitable and anti-colonial practices in art museums. Phoebe’s current research project examines the emerging canon of Native American women artists through exhibition history. Most recently, she independently curated the exhibition In Their Element(s): Women Artists Across Media for the Fairfield University Art Museum. Additionally, Phoebe is a communications specialist for the Western Museums Association.
