Sirilak Saengsawang Rottler
Sirilak Rottler is a community artist-educator and a second-year MA student in Art & Visual Culture Education with an emphasis on museum and community arts education. An Asian/Thai American, she grew up as an immigrant and English language learner. She now studies asset-based approaches to community development and works with immigrant communities across Tucson, AZ. Her research and teaching interests intersect contemplative practice and feminist ethics of care with critical studies, civic participation, and equity in the arts.
Sirilak holds a BA with Art History emphasis and a minor in Arts and Cultural Management from Northern Arizona University. She is currently a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Arizona. She has been a citizenship instructor to adult learners of other languages at Pima Community College since 2019. She also co-leads a multilingual arts program for refugee-status and immigrant youth in Tucson.
